How about punching a member of Girls Aloud for £500?
Actually, Stephen Sackur did take one of Chomsky's quotes out of context about the "de-nazifying" of the USA. I think Chomsky would probably refer him to the same quote regarding the punching of Pandas and Girls Aloud in the UK. ;)

I bet he gets well bored having to talk about stuff like this all the time. You should have asked him if he'd punch a panda in the face for £500, or who his favourite member of Girls Aloud is.

actually, seems like a pretty straightforward answer:

"I was using the term in the conventional manner, with ‘liberal’ understood in the American sense, something like ‘mildly social democratic’, roughly ‘New Labour’ in the British context.

"The term elite refers to those with more privilege and opportunity, hence who dominate decision-making in the economic, political, and ideological spheres. There are no sharp boundaries, no club to belong to. To discover their morals and ideas we investigate what they say but more significantly what they do."

so priveledged, "mildly social democratic", dominant decision-makers. makes sense to me.
